10 Things to Do Before Your Junk Removal Pickup

A quick checklist to make your Denver junk removal faster, cheaper, and hassle-free.

The big three: text a photo for a flat quote, pull out anything you’re keeping (check drawers!), and set aside hazardous items we can’t take. Do those and pickup day is easy.
  1. Text a photo for a flat quote. A clear picture of the pile gets you an accurate, all-in price in minutes — no guessing.
  2. Separate what you’re keeping. Pull out anything staying, and double-check for keepsakes so nothing leaves by accident.
  3. Check drawers, cushions & pockets. Cash, jewelry, and documents hide in furniture headed out the door — give it one last look.
  4. Set aside hazardous items. Paint, chemicals, motor oil, and propane can’t go on the truck — route those to a hazardous waste drop-off.
  5. Pull out donations you want credited to you. If you want your own tax receipt, drop those separately — otherwise we donate usable items for you.
  6. Clear a path. A quick sweep of the route from the item to the door speeds things up and protects your walls and floors.
  7. Secure pets. Doors will be open and crew will be moving — a closed room keeps pets safe and calm.
  8. Confirm the flat price upfront. Know your number before work starts. With us it’s all-in — labor, stairs, and disposal included.
  9. Have payment ready. Ask which methods are accepted so checkout is quick when the job’s done.
  10. Book your slot early in the day. Same-day fills up — call or text by 2pm (earlier is better) to lock in an afternoon pickup.

Before Your Pickup FAQ

Do I need to move everything outside before junk removal?
No. A full-service crew like Junk Same Day carries items out from any floor — you don’t have to drag anything to the curb. Getting items curbside can lower the price, but it’s never required.
What won’t junk removal take?
Household hazardous waste — paint, motor oil, chemicals, propane tanks, and similar — can’t go on the truck. Set those aside for a hazardous waste drop-off. Almost everything else is fair game.
How do I get an accurate quote?
Text a photo of the pile. A clear picture (or a quick video for a big job) lets us give you a flat, all-in price in minutes — far more accurate than describing it over the phone.
How far ahead should I book same-day pickup?
Reach out earlier in the day for the best same-day slot. Call or text by 2pm and we can usually be there the same afternoon — but morning requests get first pick of the schedule.
