Heavy Items We Specialize In
Pianos
Upright, baby grand, grand, and digital pianos. We handle the legs, lid, and pedal assembly. Uprights go out on a piano dolly; grands are partially disassembled. We protect floors with moving blankets and hardboard.
Gun Safes
From 200-lb residential safes to 1,000+ lb commercial models. We use heavy-duty appliance dollies and stair-climbing equipment. Safes are moved upright and strapped throughout transport. We can remove from basements, second floors, and tight closets.
Pool Tables
Slate pool tables are disassembled on-site — rails removed, felt preserved if requested, slate pieces carried separately. A 3-piece slate table can weigh 1,000+ lbs assembled; breaking it down is the only safe way to move it.
Hot Tubs & Spas
Empty hot tubs still weigh 500-900 lbs. We disconnect (you handle electrical), cut apart if needed for access, and haul away. Shell material goes to recycling where possible. See our hot tub removal page for full details.
Exercise Equipment
Treadmills (200-350 lbs), ellipticals (200-300 lbs), weight machines (300-600 lbs), and Pelotons. We disassemble multi-station home gyms and heavy commercial equipment. Metal frames are recycled.

- Assessment: You send photos and describe the item, location (floor, stairs, doorway width). We quote based on weight, access, and crew needed.
- Crew dispatch: We send the right team — 3-4 person crews for heavy items, with appropriate equipment pre-loaded on the truck.
- Floor protection: Moving blankets on floors, corner guards on doorframes, hardboard on hardwood. Your home is protected.
- Disassembly: Pool tables broken down, piano legs removed, safes tilted onto dollies. We do it right.
- Removal: Professional lifting techniques, strapping, and controlled movement through your home and out to the truck.
- Disposal: Metal frames recycled. Wood recycled or donated. Pianos donated when playable. Safes scrapped.
Stair & Access Considerations
Heavy items + stairs = higher risk and more crew time. Here's how we handle it:
- Basement stairs: Most common challenge. We use stair-climbing dollies and controlled descent techniques. Add $50-$100 for basement heavy items.
- Second/third floor: We assess stairway width and turns before starting. Some items (grand pianos) may need crane service for upper floors — we'll tell you upfront.
- Tight doorways: Items disassembled when possible. Pool table rails removed, piano legs detached, safe doors removed to reduce width.
- Elevator buildings: Weight limit of the elevator determines approach. Most freight elevators handle gun safes and pianos. Residential elevators may not.
